Fitbit Charge 5 Vs Huawei Watch Fit 2: Which Will You Choose
The Huawei Watch Fit 2 and the Fitbit Charge 5 are both remarkable fitness trackers, and what’s more significant is that they both provide something unique for the user. This comparison makes it obvious and easy for readers to determine which tracker best suits their needs.
The outcome of this comparison will not indicate which fitness tracker is better than the other, but rather which one suits your needs better. For those who have read my prior articles, this should sound familiar.
Rather than going into the technical specifications, this comparison focuses on the features of the two fitness trackers and how they compare in six different categories. In the end, it is clear that the Huawei Watch Fit 2 is the superior choice. A brief overview of the results is presented below. Final score 5-1.
Sector | Winner |
Smart Features | Huawei Watch Fit 2 |
Health Features | Fitbit Charge 5 (Premium) |
Third Party Apps | Huawei Watch Fit 2 |
Workout Mode Ability | Huawei Watch Fit 2 |
GPS Tracking | Huawei Watch Fit 2 |
Battery Life | Huawei Watch Fit 2 |
Smart Features : Winner Huawei Watch Fit 2
When it comes to smart features, both devices don’t offer many options for the user to interact with. However, in my experience I believe that the available features are enough to make life easier and more efficient.
With the Fitbit Charge 5, I take advantage of the contactless payment feature on a regular basis. With the integration of Google Wallet, I know that I’m always set up for a reliable contactless payment experience no matter where I am in the world.
After looking into each device, I have decided that the Huawei Watch Fit 2 deserves to be crowned the winner in this category. It makes sure to provide the same features as the Fitbit Charge 5, but also adds further extras that make it stand out. One of these is the ability to control and stream music directly from the watch, while the size of the screen is bigger which makes it much easier to read notifications compared to the Charge 5.
Health Features : Winner Fitbit Charge 5 (Premium)
When it comes to health features, in this category the Fitbit Charge 5 is the clear winner. I would say that this is the category that all Fitbit devices are very strong in, almost like they put all their efforts into creating a great health experience.
When it comes to sleep tracking, the Fitbit Charge 5 is a top-ranking device that can compete with the likes of the Fitbit Sense and Apple Watch Series 7, Withing’s and Whoop. As a fitness tracker, it has all the health features that Fitbit offers with a premium subscription. The only Fitbit device that can surpass the Fitbit Charge 5 in terms of health features is the Fitbit Sense, which offers all of its health features in a premium subscription. Not to mention how powerful the Charge 5 is.
Third Party Apps : Winner Huawei Watch Fit 2
When it comes to third party apps from a smart watch perspective, they have the ability to connect to third party apps directly or indirectly. The direct method is having the ability to connect to the third party app via the watch, whereas the indirect method is where your account is linked to the third party app.
From a fitness tracker perspective they dont quite have the same ability. The Huawei Watch Fit 2 has gone beyond that limit and is able to connect to third party apps directly. But it does come with a catch, you must have a Huawei phone to connect to the Huawei watch directly.
Then again fitness trackers have the ability to connect to third party apps indirectly, which is in my experience the preferred method because you can leave your phone at home.
In this category I have chosen the Huawei Watch Fit 2 as the winner because it has a bigger out reach to third party apps than Fitbit does. Huawei Watch Fit 2 can connect to top third party apps like Strava, Komoot, adidas running and many more.
Workout Mode Ability : Winner Huawei Watch Fit 2
When it comes to tracking your workouts, both devices have the ability to go beyond just tracking different workout modes, as they also offer some quite impressive features that not many people are aware of. That’s why I have designed a system to help people determine which device is better able to track and monitor their workouts.
In this comparison the Huawei Watch Fit 2 has taken the win in a big way, and the score line does reflect the gap between the two products. To me this is the Watch Fit 2’s strongest category. No disrespect to the Charge 5 which has the ability to track your workouts at a basic level which is still in high demand, and has the same ability level as the Fitbit Versa 4. Here is a summary of the results.

GPS Tracking : Winner Huawei Watch Fit 2
In this comparison the Huawei Watch Fit 2 wins this comparison. In my experience testing many smart watch’s and fitness trackers it’s all because of the number of location sensors built in. The Huawei Watch Fit 2 out numbers the Charge 5, five location sensors to one winning this category with superior accuracy.
The Huawei Watch Fit 2 can match it with the big name brands in terms of accuracy, only because of it’s ability to connect to Bluetooth sensors such as cadence and running pods. For an affordable fitness tracker with this much accuracy, it’s a very good when it comes to GPS tracking.
I wont go into detail as I have already written a detailed article on both devices GPS accuracy. Here is a summary of results.
