Huawei GT3 Pro vs Fitbit Versa 4 : Which Will You Choose

The Huawei GT3 PRO and Fitbit Versa 4 are completely different devices that can support you in a very specific way. Huawei devices tend to be very activity focused, whereas Fitbit devices tend to focus more on your health. It’s not a like for like comparison, but interesting enough for anyone that is reading this and is keen to know if the device is right for you.

When ever I test a device, I test it through six different categories and rate each device through my own testing system. After comparing the results the Huawei GT3 PRO wins 5-1. Here is a summary of my final testing results

Lastly, if you are not familiar with my comparison articles, I dont do specification comparisons. I only provide comparisons based of my testing results and user experience. The testing criteria I have created, keeps the comparison results unbiased.

Smart Feature Ability : Winner Huawei GT3 PRO

If you are not familiar with the term smart feature ability, it’s where the smart watch can support you by providing some form of automation into your every day lives. In this category both devices are very strong. Although the Huawei GT3 PRO is declared the winner, the Versa 4 does have some advantages which I will explain next. Here is a final summary of my results for this category.

What Advantages Does the Versa 4 Have

There are really two features that the Versa 4 has which is contactless payment and digital assistant.

  • Contactless payment: With Fitbit pay now superseded by Google pay. Here in New Zealand, Huawei pay is not supported, so I could not test Huawei pay for myself. You have to check with your bank if they support Huawei pay as well.
  • Digital Assistant : The Versa 4 has Alexa built in. In my experience, this is very handy, because you can voice activate many features within the watch or provide information when you need it. Streaming or connecting to any Alexa compatible smart home devices can be done, and I did have a lot of fun doing this.

What Advantages Does The Huawei GT3 PRO Have

The device has two big advantages which is the ability to answer phone calls and the ability to make phone calls. You are limited to twenty contacts so you may need to choose very carefully which contacts you store on the Huawei Health app, but apart from that this feature works reliably and consistently.

I was hoping that there will be additional smart features, however that wasn’t the case and it’s smart feature ability is no different to the Huawei GT3 Active, which is still pretty good.

If you want to know more about smart feature abilities for both devices click on the links below. It will give you all of my testing results that you dont see in this article. Since the Huawei GT3 PRO smart feature ability is the same experience as the Huawei GT3 Active, I will provide that link also.

Health Features : Winner Fitbit Versa 4 (With Premium)

When it comes to Health tracking, the Fitbit Versa is the winner in this category, but it only applies to anyone with a premium subscription. Fitbit is one of the most reliable trackers when it comes to sleep tracking and heart rate tracking, which is the main reason why I have declared the Versa 4 as the winner in this category.

However the Huawei GT3 PRO does have some advantages over the Versa 4 in this category, which I will explain

  • ECG Reading : The Huawei GT3 PRO has the ECG app built in which is medically graded, which is probably the same algorithm as the Huawei Watch D. The only Fitbit devices with a ECG app is the Charge 5 and the Sense Watch series.
  • Afib Detection : The Versa 4 does have this also, but the Huawei GT3 PRO is medical grade

Third Party App Ability : Winner Huawei GT3 PRO

Huawei Watch GT3 Pro control Spotify account

When it comes to third party app ability, the Huawei GT3 PRO is the clear winner in this category, and the Versa 4 has no advantages over the GT3 PRO in this category either. I think the final score speaks for them selves especially five point gap between the two devices, which means the GT3 performed far more reliably and consistently, which is the reason why it’s the winner in this category. Here is a summary of my final results.

Where Does the Huawei GT3 Gain the Advantage

The two major areas where the Huawei GT3 PRO is the In direct and direct ability to connect to third party applications which I will give a brief explanation why.

  • In direct ability : This is where you connect to a third party app by sharing your Huawei Health tracking data. This is important to anyone that has a premium level subscription to popular apps like Strava, Komoot or Adidas Running. Huawei GT3 PRO is very strong in this area, and the tracking data synchronises immediately once you end your tracking activity. Where as the The Versa 4, the data does not synchronise right away, and it may take a day to transfer to the third party app.
  • Direct Ability : This is where you download a app from within the app gallery and control the app directly from the device. The Versa 4 doesn’t have any apps that I could download, however I can only speak for my own region in New Zealand. The Huawei GT3 PRO is no different but there were a few apps that worked within my region. Watch controller, which is a app where you can control your Spotify account, and Petal maps, which is a navigational app similar to Google maps.

GPS Tracking : Winner Huawei GT3 PRO

When it comes to GPS tracking, there is only one clear winner in this category which is the Huawei GT3 PRO, and if you see my final results there is quite a big gap between both devices. A lot of it has to come down to the number of satellite systems that the device can connect to, which historically (in my testing experience) has improved accuracy. Battery Life : Winner Huawei GT3 PRO

When it comes to battery life, both devices have performed well, however the Huawei GT3 PRO performed a little better and almost gets a perfect score during testing, which is why this device is the winner in this category.

When it comes to battery life testing, I do two test’s. The first test is based on my typical usage without GPS tracking, and the second test is based on the GPS battery consumption. Both of the results can give you an idea of what to expect in battery life range.

I will provide a quick comparison of my final results, but if you want to see the full testing check out my full articles on both devices
