Huawei Band 7 : Running Ability Index Can Track Your Running Form

Huawei, the leading smartphone manufacturer in the world, has just released their latest fitness band, the Huawei Band 7. This new band is a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the Huawei Band 6. One of the most notable new features of this band is the Trusport system.

This is a new tracking system that was introduced by Huawei after they released he Huawei Watch GT Runner. In this article, we will focus on one of the most important features of the Trusport system : the Running Ability Index (RAI)

The Huawei Band Now Has Trusport Analytics For The First Time

Yes that is correct, for the first time. Ever since the release of the Huawei Watch GT Runner earlier in the year, a lot of people weren’t to sure of this new technology. I mean it’s there first watch that will compete against the likes of Garmin, Polar, Apple who have done this well for years.

Was it a bold move? yes, and I think it will bring healthy competition to the market. When I saw that Trusport analytics was going to be included in the Huawei Band 7. I thought wow, these types of features could actually compete well against Garmin’s latest running watch release Forerunner 55. The smaller brother of the Forerunner series.

However there is a catch. The Huawei band 7 will only have 4 out of the 23 Trusport analytics/features. I still think this is very good still considering the price. You will get more bang for your buck.

What is Huawei’s Band 7 Running Ability Index (RAI)?

The Running Ability Index, or RAI, is a new feature introduced by Huawei with the release of their GT Runner fitness watch. It’s a score that’s calculated based on your running performance, and takes into account factors such as pace, distance, and heart rate. The higher your RAI score, the better your running performance.

So, why is the Running Ability Index important? Well, if you’re training for a marathon, or any other running event, it’s a great way to track your progress and see how you’re improving over time. Plus, it can be used as a motivation tool to help you keep pushing yourself to reach your goals.

What Are The Benefit’s of Running Ability Index (RAI)?

The Running Ability Index (RAI) is a tracking system that provides users with valuable insights into their running form, technique, and abilities.

There are so many benefits to using RAI. The most obvious benefit is that it can help you improve your running form and technique. It can also help you identify any areas that need improvement.

Another great benefit of RAI is that it can help you track your progress over time. This is especially useful for runners who are training for a race or event. RAI can help you see how much you’ve improved and where you need to continue to work.

Finally, RAI is a great motivator. It’s always nice to see your progress and how far you’ve come. Seeing your improvements can help keep you motivated to keep running and working hard.

If you’re a runner, or even if you’re just starting out, the Running Ability Index is a great tool to use. It can help you improve your form, track your progress, and keep you motivated.

How Do You Improve Your Running Ability Index (RAI)?

Well, there are a few things you can do. First, make sure you’re running regularly. The more you run, the better your RAI score will be. Second, try to improve your running form. Good running form will help you run faster and longer, which will ultimately lead to a higher RAI score.

Finally, try to run in different conditions. Running in hot weather, cold weather, or even on a treadmill will all help you improve your RAI score.

What is A Good Running Ability Score?

It’s a way for avid runners to track their progress and see how they’re doing compared to other runners. The index goes from 0-100 and is based on your heart rate, cadence, ground contact time, and more.

A good score is anything above 80. If you’re new to running, don’t worry about getting a perfect score. Just focus on improving your own score each time you go for a run.

The benefits of having a high RAI score are that it means you’re efficient when you run. You have a low heart rate, which means you’re not overworking your heart. You also have a high cadence, which means you take more steps per minute and cover more ground.

Is The Huawei Band 7 RAI Reliable?

In order for the Huawei Band 7 to Track your Running Ability Index is 2 things.

  • Reliable GPS tracking : So the Huawei Band 7 can track your pace
  • Reliable Heart Rate Tracker : Track your heart rate variability during your run.

How Does The Huawei Band 7 RAI Compare To Other Fitness Tracker Bands?

Running Ability Index is a term that Huawei uses for it’s Trusport analytics. However the is metric is a fairly common metric amongst runner to improve their running form.

Garmin wearable’s tend to do things differently. They use cadence that will offer insight into your running. Garmin I think offer Sensor fusion, which is a fancy tech term multiple sensors are used to track for accuracy.

Apple watch’s offer something similar but sensor fusion has only been recently adapted in the latest Apple watchOS 9 update in June 2022.

Polar wearable’s also offer something similar, especially in the new pace series. Polar use the term Running index an it’s measured the same way as the Huawei Band 7.

So the question is, how does it compare? To be fair it is better to compare apples with apples. For Garmin I have chosen the New Forerunner 55, Polar I chose the New Pacer. Both these watch’s are about par with the Huawei Band 7. I would probably rate the Forerunner 55, and the Polar Pacer just above the Huawei Band 7.

In the end I think the Huawei Band 7 is a good fitness tracker. It’s not the best, but it’s certainly not the worst.

Final Conclusion

The new Huawei Band 7 is a great fitness watch for those looking for an upgrade from the Band 6. It has some fantastic new features, including Trusport, that make it a worthwhile purchase. The Running Ability Index is a great addition to the watch and provides valuable insights into your running performance.

For what it’s worth, the Huawei Band 7 really punch’s above it’s weight and compete with the other brands. I guess what it comes down to is what you’re looking for in a fitness watch.
